Custom List Marketing (formerly e-Seine Trawler) was founded in 1999 by James McGone. He realized that with the rapid increase in marketing costs, email was both an inexpensive and effective way to sell products and services. Also, he knew that there were list brokers who sold email files that contained a significant percentage of undeliverable email addresses as well as deliverable but poorly targeted email addresses (admin, webmaster...). A consumer who purchases such a file pays for email that has no chance of getting delivered. As a result, they pay more money and get a lower percentage of hits.

What makes Custom List Marketing different from your typical list broker is that the lists sold by Custom List Marketing are continuously updated. Additionally, Custom List marketing will compile email lists as well as name and address files to the specifications of the client. Sometimes this is a tedious process, but it is the only way we can provide our clients with the best list available. We will compile from any business class or any target market. The client gets a clean product that is often over 90% deliverable because the list is updated and the poorly targeted email and undeliverable email are removed. This creates a less expensive and more effective product for the client.

In 2008 Jennifer Hahalis purchased e-Seine Trawler from James McGone and re-named it Custom List Marketing. She has continued to provide the clients with the same, high quality product they have come to expect from e-Seine Trawler.
